Experience history in a vivid, interactive and playful way: The DDR Museum offers you a hands-on experience of the everyday life of a state long gone, the life in socialism. Visitors are welcome to broaden their knowledge in different thematic areas, to reconsider existing clichés and to have a hands-on experience of history. Exhibits are there to be handled - few are kept in glass cabinets. The Trabi is still originally GDR-like. Typical engine noises of the Trabi and a simulated ride through the concrete-slab housing estate give an impression of what it was like to go for a ride. There is much more to discover in the DDR Museum: watch TV in the authentic GDR living room, rummage through the drawers of the Karat wall unit. There are documentaries for the visitors to watch in original GDR movie chairs and it is possible to replay the football game "GDR vs. FRG" by oneself or to dance the Lipsi. All this is seen with the most important information about every topic.

THE STORY OF BERLIN is a very unusual exhibition about history: you experience the city's moving history with all your senses. Visitors enter different historical worlds and go though that kind of atmosphere – from the city's foundation to the Fall of the Berlin Wall. An additional element of the exhibition is the fully functional nuclear bomb shelter situated right underneath the building. Every full hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. guided tours in english language through the bunker are offered which last about 30 - 45 minutes. Thousands of beds in a gloomy light give you an authentic atmosphere of a menacing atomic strike, which is probably the most haunting part of the exhibition. Built in the 1970's, in a case of emergency this shelter could accommodate 3,600 people and is still fully functional.

The Insider Walking Tour will give you an insight into the history of Berlin - under the Prussian kings, during Hitlers Third Reich and the Cold War. You will see the Berlin Wall and the former Death Strip, the site of Hitler's Bunker and the new bunker Excavations, Checkpoint Charlie, the Reichstag with its glass dome, Victory Column, Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz with Sony Centre, the twin cathedrals on Gendarmenplatz, Museum Island, Palast der Republik, Tv-Tower, Berliner Dom, Unter den Linden, Jewish Synagogue and many more sights.

The Berlin Wall, along with the Great Wall of China, was one of the longest structures ever built to keep people separated from one another. This tours follows the often ghost like trail of the Death-strip and Wall, retracing some of the more intriguing fortifications of its border from guard towers to tank traps. It is designed to serve as a reminder of the Cold War, which kept the world in terror for forty years and came to an end not so long ago. Standing in the middle of 'No Mans Land' ,at the infamous Checkpoint Charlie where the Cold War powers formerly faced off just yards apart, we describe the routines and duties of Border Guards the Soviet and Allied forces, Stasi and CIA.

This historical brings you to the heart of West Berlin in front of the bombed out Memorial Church. You will get a full description of the ferocity of the Allied bombing campaign and the defence of the Nazi Reich Capital, the Cross of Coventry and the Madonna of Stalingrad.
