Located 46 Kilometres away from Barcelona city in the Penedés region of Catalonia (a region known to the Ancient Greeks as a remarkable wine-growing area), you will find the Freixenet Cellars. Freixenet came about through the union of the Ferrer and the Sala families, both with a long history of winemaking. When Dolores Sala married Pedro Bosch, they decided to concentrate on the production of Cava, a natural sparkling wine, following the method used in Champagne, France. Following the death of Pedro, Dolores took control of the company and started exporting Freixenet, soon opening sales outlets in London and New Jersey. Nowadays, Freixenet is one of the world's best-selling sparkling wines. This escorted tour through the cellars will show us the process of elaboration of the Cava. The tour finishes with a chance to sample Cava.

El Poble Espanyol de Montjuic was built in 1929 for the Barcelona International Exhibition as the pavilion dedicated to art. Since it was conceived, El Poble Espanyol has been considered as a different, unique space within the city. Its urban layout has a surface area of 49,000 m2, a real village with streets and squares and in the natural surroundings of the hills at Montjuic. For this reason, 117 buildings, streets and squares are reproduced to scale to give an idea of a Spanish village containing the main characteristics of all towns and villages in the Peninsula. This "open-air museum" also holds more than 40 workshops, 11 restaurants, a Flamenco Show, a souvenir shop, etc and is only 10 minutes walking distance from Plaza de Espanya. Individual headphones with a brief explanation on the monument will also be supplied on certain languages.

The Gothic Quarter is Barcelona's historical and political centre. With this walking tour you will discover not only its streets, squares and hidden corners but the charms of its architecture. Aquarium de Barcelona is the most important marine leisure and education centre in the world concerning the Mediterranean. A series of 35 tanks, 11000 animals, 450 different species, an underwater tunnel 80 metres long, six million litres of water and an immense Oceanarium (the only one in Europe), turn this centre into a unique reference leisure show. There are 6 different areas; Mediterranean Tanks (where you will be able to see the most characteristic species of the different Mediterranean communities); Tropical Tanks (where you will be able to travel over the 7 tropical seas without catching a plane); Planeta Agua (discover many of the creatures that have adapted to the most diverse conditions of the aquatic environment); Miniacuaria (a series of interactive modules that everyone can use to learn more about small organisms); The Oceanarium (the only one of its kind in Europe. A stroll through the Oceanarium is a spectacular experience. A transparent tunnel over 80 metres long crosses under it, which allows visitors to go through it as if they were walking on the sea bed) and Explora (an interactive leisure and educational space).

A good way of gaining a better insight into the city is to discover its gastronomic culture: an essential ingredient in its cultural heritage. This walking tour features just a selection of the wide range of culinary delights to be found in Barcelona. We will take you through the streets of the old town where you will discover the history of our gastronomy through some of the shops and markets which date back from the 19th century. These include Boqueria Market (one of the most famous markets in the world where you'll have the opportunity to try some of the fruits they have on sale), Escriba Patisserie, Cafe de la Opera (the eldest cafe in the city), Petritxol Street and its artesian shops, the famous 1827 Fargas chocolatier, Planelles-Donat (the well-known hard noughat makers), El Magnifico Coffee shop (with more than 25 coffee varieties to offer), and La Ribera District with its wine bars and where you'll try some wine at Vinya del Senyor wine bar. You will experience up to 13 stops in total.

Discover Picasso's Barcelona by following in the artist's footsteps. With this walking tour you will find out about the life of this genius and discover his work on a visit to the Picasso Museum. You will start this tour by visiting the famous "El Quatre Cats restaurant" where Picasso used to take part in intellectual debates. You will then continue with a stop at the "Friezes on the Architects school building" Picassos's only piece of public art in the city. It is then onto "Sala Pares", which in 1901 hosted Picasso's first joint exhibition.
